Gilbert, Arizona, one of the fastest-growing communities in the United States, has embarked on an ambitious journey to become the "City of the Future". This mission is driven by innovative solutions that anticipate change and create a sustainable future for its residents. A pivotal step in this journey was partnering with SDG Group to implement a Data Governance Strategy, engineer a centralized data technology stack, and support data visualization creation as part of their Performance Management initiative.
In this article, we are proud to highlight a portion of Gilbert’s larger success story by showcasing their “Volunteer Program” dashboard. Fill out the form below to access the full success story:
The Gilbert Police Department’s Volunteer Program offers community members an opportunity to actively participate in various units such as Gilbert Citizens on Patrol, Crisis Support Unit, Crime Prevention Unit, and the Chaplain program. The mission of these volunteers is to support department personnel in providing police service and to promote community partnership. The hours donated by these volunteers are estimated to save the Gilbert Police Department thousands of dollars annually.
To effectively highlight the efforts and impact of their volunteers, the Gilbert Police Department collaborated with SDG Group to create comprehensive dashboards using Microsoft Power BI. These dashboards are publicly accessible and offer the following interactive data visualizations:
1. Volunteer Hours by Unit Supported (Units Include: Crisis Support Unit, Gilbert Citizens on Patrol, Admin, Volunteer Programs, and Crime Prevention)
